Absolutely MAD Magazine - 50+ YearsReviewsRegarding the low resolution: to think I almost "upgraded" from my Broderbund cd-roms. Glad I read the negatives here. Considering that the main draw for me with MAD is the stunning art by Wally Wood in the first hundred or so issues, it makes no sense to have less resolution. I truly pity the latecomers who missed out on the cd-rom set and will not get the full impact of each issue. However, I was introduced to my dad's stack of twenty year old MADs when I was a tyke in the 1970s - it included most of the issues from 37-125 (lost in a housefire, darnit) and were not simply funny but an introduction to recent history. I supppose I was the only eight year old who knew all the jokes about Richard Nixon and Nikita Khruschev. The very best issues were 35-85 (1957-1962), be sure to check them out. SO - if you have little guys and a PC, by all means get this for them and get them interested in their social studies classes from a smart-ass angle. It's always been a great help to me. On the serious side, for a younger generation that seems to have trouble questioning authority, this is essential in developing an over-all sense of humor regarding the world and how it works. Excellent quality copies of all or mostly all the original Mad issues through the years. It's great to have all this stuff on one DVD. There was a problem getting the DVD to open on my Vista machine, but I managed to get it to work by uninstalling the latest Adobe .pdf program, and installing the version that comes with the DVD. Then I copied the .pdf files to an external hard drive for more convenience next time. Very fun, to look back through all those years, and remember what a bonehead I was as a kid!National Lampoon Magazine & Mad Magazine Complete Collectors Comic Books Collection Bundle I think it's great. You can look at all of the old Mad Magazines that you grew up with and even the ones before you were born which are a totally different format. All in all it is worth the money. I can't get either this or the National Lampoon anthology to play; I have a Vista operating system and the latest Adobe Reader, but when I inert the disc in my player, which works well otherwise, nothing happens. I tried E-mailing the custmer support address I found on the box, but all I got back was an e mail saying they had received my message and would be contacting me soon. That was three weeks ago. What's up? First of all, this played perfectly on a Windows 7 machine, so it will work on Vista. Yep, all of the first 6 editions are here, fairly nicely accessible through the Adobe PDF interface. And the MAD fold-ins are clickable - click once and it shows you the folded up version (kinda cute). BUT - having said all this, while it does indeed show the covers of the various special editions and compilations that came out over the years, it doesn't have the bonuses that came with them; no sound files, no cutouts (pity, they could've been printed out), no stickers, etc. But a ton of this stuff isn't available anywhere else, including the books. All in all, it's worth every penny of 25 bucks! Average Rating:![]() |

Totally MAD: Every Issue of MAD Magazine 1952-1998ReviewsI feel in love with MAD at an early age. Actually my local Air Force base library carried it so i read every issue in the early 90's. MAD got me interested in politics actually, hahah. Anyway, this is great CD rom. It's got everything until 1998 which is fine with me, I reckon MAD jumped the shark shortly after. So many memories. Great buy. Average Rating:![]() |

This collection is a must for all Mad readers. The CD runs on Adobe reader, is categorized by decade/year and is very user friendly. All the tv and movie spoofs in glorious black and white! Al Jaffee, Spy VS Spy, Don Martin and the usual gang of idiots are ALL here! Count me Absolutely MAD about this product! I loved Mad magazine as a kid gowing up. It's great to have such a collection on 1 DVD! It's fun to see all of the old ad's and the price of things back in the day as well. I never saw the first issues of Mad since they were before I was born, so now it's great to see how it evolved, and I still enjoy it today! Average Rating:![]() |

Magic HourReviewsSaw this group near Syracuse last night -- these people are GOOD!! Fun to be in the same room with them -- wonderful performers that fit together musically and tempramentally on stage perfectly -- delightful songs ('Green' and 'Guardians' really grabbed me) -- an all-around soul-filling joyful treat! Margo Hennebach, Adrienne Jones & Mark Saunders- Mad Agnes is amazing. Saw them live in Saratoga. Super blending of voices & instruments, technical virtuosity second to none. "Dimming of the Day" is wrenching every time. Average Rating:![]() |

Mad Magazine Board GameReviewsI played this board game growing up and we always loved to play it. My mother still has the same MAD MAGAZINE board game with all the pieces and whenever my kids visit her they all ask if they can play it. It is the opposite of most all board games and is alot of fun. Not for the lazy bums though, because there is alot of weird activity involved including switching chairs, tricks, crazy hijinks and charades! I would recomend for anyone with kids. This listed in good "condition". The item arrived very quickly however it was not in good condition. We have had this game for twenty-five years and have played it with many kids of all ages. They all loved it. I just had to have another one since ours is worn out. Unfortuanately, it isn't made anymore so I was overjoyed when I found it at Amazon.com. With all the educational toys and the stress that some of them can create in a group of young people, this is a game that is just a game. No one can really lose. It is like the reverse of Monoply in that you go the opposite way around the board and you want to lose all of your money. That isn't as easy as it sounds but you have a lot of fun doing silly things that makes everyone laugh throughout the game. A real winner! Average Rating:![]() |
